My first Tom Clancy read - I loved it. It was gripping from page 1. At times the ‘talking’ chapters go on a tab to long; also at the beginning I found it difficult to keep track of the different submarines. But really, this is nit picking - I’ve read far worse. But this is all I can say in terms or critique ... the rest is all positives. The book is well written, from the dialog, to the submarine battles ... to everything. Its very well written. I love good adherence to military conduct and written in a way that makes it exciting and gripping, not boring.
forgotten I had read this way back when . . . and what a rollicking good read it was too. Creates that underwater claustrophobia reminiscent of Das Boat. Lightweight, but a good-read 5 stars (even if not great literature).
