This was a really great start to the series. I love the way Michael J Sullivan writes and this book had all of those great qualities. Can't wait for book two!

I loved this book! It was a really fun story with a lot of intrigue. I thought Malcom was hilarious. The relations between the fae and the humans was really interesting. I enjoyed how strong the female characters were and am excited to see where the story goes.

I've been reading in different genres, but I never expected that I can find such a masterful storytelling, that wakes up your senses as a reader and is telling rather than showing constantly.
To be honest, the beginning didn't hooked me up, but I loved the descriptive style of Sullivan that was just enough, so I continued reading. I'm so glad I did.
Great world building, lovely characters, excellent conflict, awesome first book that makes perfect setting for what comes next.

This book felt slow reading through it, although it wasn’t as slow-paced as “Dune”. If you enjoy the slow burn type of stories, this book might be for you. I, however, am going to try entering Sullivan’s world through Chronicles or Revelations then circle back to this series if inclined. It’s a good book, it just didn’t keep me on the edge of my seat. That being said, I do like the way this author writes, so will be keeping that in mind for the future. Happy reading!
