Where Alloy of Law felt like it was missing something, Shadows of Self fully makes up for it. With the characters now feeling much more fleshed out and engaging, the plot as well had me wholly invested. Pacing was much better, and the relationship dynamics between the main characters (especially Wax and Wayne) really shines as the highlight of this book. Fun and witty dialogue, deep personal stakes, and a plot twist that made me instantly want to reread the book with new context, Shadows of Self has me hooked and on board with the future of this new era of Mistborn books.

Ok, most of the book I was kind of disappointed cause I thought it was predictable but the end had me at the edge of my seat. I have mixed feelings regarding God, if you know what I mean, but I understand what he had to do for the greater good. Also Marasi's part in the Epilogue got me thinking...
