First half was 5⭐️ but the second half was more like 4⭐️ so rating right in the middle. Overall I really enjoyed! Fans of famous person/normal person romances will love this one!

This is a cute super lighthearted Rom com. I enjoyed the rockstar loving a farm bumpkin. The smut scenes were kind of cheesy but I went with it. It’s a good distraction for sure but I don’t think I’ll continue on with the series.

I don't hate drama that comes from people trying to do the right thing by someone else. Even if in principle I think we should never deny other people agency, in life and in art I can understand trying to do what you think is best for another person.

Libby (unfortunately named Liberty Bell by her parents) finds an unexpected "surprise" on her front lawn: a godlike hunk of a man, sprawled out and drunk out of his mind. When she manages to get him somewhat conscious, he proceeds to throw up all over her. Who wouldn't be charmed by such creature? She literally hoses him up, brings him inside, dumps him on her bed and leaves him aspirin and a hangover cure concoction to drink on her bedside table. When he wakes up, like any stray creatures that are taken care of, he just won't leave. Add to the fact that he is her new neighbor, Killian James, frontman of the biggest rock band on the planet, hiding from the trauma of finding his best friend on the brink of death after a failed suicide attempt.
Throw some forced proximity, a shared interest in music and an undeniable attraction, they soon get together. But Killian is still a rock star, Libby suffers from the worst case of stage fright known to man... will there be a possible future together?
I really thought that I would love this book. It has one of my favorite tropes, the rockstar. The meet cute is hilarious and unique and I love the author. So, I am having a hard time figuring out why I thought this was just meh for me. I suspect it was because I opted for the audiobook. Mind you, the narration is not bad. These are new narrators for me and they do an ok job, but it felt like it was 25 days long. I kept doing other stuff and coming back because I was interested in the story, but I was having a "get on with it already!!!" feeling all the time. Maybe it was me, because it is NOT a bad book, I just had a hard time getting through it. I also wish that some plot points were more developed: Killian's famous parents are mentioned a few times and it seemed like there was going to be something there, but no. Also, we have people dealing with the aftermath of an attempted suicide and I felt it didn't get the attention it deserved.
I also started book#2 immediately and I am loving it! So, take this review with a grain of salt.
