This was entertaining for the first 75% but had like… no plot. Ends in death and betrayal and then immediately goes into an epilogue/bonus chapter of a happy holiday episode where none of the death and betrayal ever gets addressed. I ate the first book up and this was…. lame lol
Overall Rating: 3/5
TLDR: Sequel of another vampire series
Do I recommend this book: If you respect yourself, then no
Thoughts: The character development and plot development certainly went further in the sequel. The big reveal was a bit predictable, and the internal conflicts were sometimes dragging. Unfortunately, I am a completionist, and I will probably be reading the next book.

Way too much smut?? Plot twists badly written and thrown in. Honestly so sad for the Story, I liked the first book
What a disappointment. Queen of Myths and Shadows turned out to be a typical filler book to make more money or make a duology into a trilogy or series. I almost DNF’ed this book several times; not much happens towards a plot, it’s dual POV with Adrian getting 3!?! out of the 27 chapters (why bother with dual POV at all?), AND to add insult to injury, overall this book was suffering from major 2nd book syndrome. Mostly it was just smut with a teensy bit of plot at the end, which is sad because I did enjoy the first book. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be picking up the next book in this series.
The author had no idea where to go with this story before getting into it, and it shows. I may even go so far and downgrade from a 2 to a 1 star, that’s how bad it was, but I’ll give it some time to marinate to be sure.

The second book in this series I did not love as much as the first one. The reason being, I felt like there were times when there were holes in the story that left me confused, with more questions. One thing that I really loved about this book was the fact we got deeper in the backstory of Isolde and who she really is, and why girl who was the main villain after them. The cliffhanger made me want to read the third book now, but I have to wait until that one comes out. It made me second guess Adrian and everything about him because who is right??
