Was a bit of a slog to get through but I got through it.
Wait what? I did not see that coming at all. The story felt a little slow, but it was still fantastic overall

Omg every woman who feels the connection with their ancestors, the witches within us, must read this book. Absolutely can't wait for the 3rd
Took a while longer to get through this book compared to the first one. At first Isolde came off kind of whiny and trying to pick fights with people all the time, but then it got a lot better. Her being bit and turned into an aufhocker?! Didn’t expect that and I liked how that eventually helped her feel more a part of something and helped her grow more as a person. Reveena being Ana this whole time?! Oh man. Loved that we got more back stories on everyone. Excited for the next one!
I really wanted to love this one as much as the first, but I just couldn’t get into it as much. I felt like Isolde and Adrian’s relationship had no growth, and that the romance part was an afterthought (excluding the tons of smut scenes we get). It was very fast paced, almost to the point of it being too fast paced.
I might write a longer review in the future, but for now I’ll leave it at this:
A good story but it felt like it was missing certain aspects. It felt like Adrian didn’t care about Isolde very much in this one.
I would recommend reading if you loved the first and plan on reading the third regardless of how this one is.

This was as bad as the first one in many of the same ways while also finding new ways to completely suck.
The annoyance I felt while reading this book can’t even be put into words. Its worldbuilding is so inconsistent that it’s actively insulting to readers.
We’ll have to see if I’m deranged enough in a year to want to read another one of these.
I received an e-arc from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
