There's not many good things I can say about this book. It was enjoyable enough for me not to give it 1 star, but I didn't really like anything about it. I didn't like the characters, especially Peter. He was literally the worst and very close to ruining my childhood crush from the live action movie. The narrator was really weird and I didn't like how the story was told. This was also a lot darker than I expected and it surprised me because this is supposed to be a children's book yet it talks about literal children mercilessly killing pirates. Maybe that's just me, but it seemed off somehow. I also found reading this difficult because the story was so weird. All in all, a huge disappointment. Definitely would not recommend. I'll just stick with the films that I actually like.

why is Peter Pan kinda evil??
¿Pa qué se quedaron los niños perdidos a crecer? Les cambio.
This story has always been a favorite of mine, ever since I was a little kid. I was always enchanted by the idea of a magical boy who lives with fairies coming to take Wendy, John, and Michael on a fantastic adventure to Neverland. Recently, too, I've thought about the meaning of the book- all the stuff about growing up and how you lose the ability to 'fly' when you do.
Anyway, I only have one comment about this particular edition (Barnes and Noble classics series.) The cover...eh. I don't love it. I always pictured Peter looking like the character in the Disney movie. The other things I don't really like about the B&N edition are the footnotes. There are footnotes included that are kind of unnecessary, at least for me. I prefer figuring out new words based on context, and even if I hadn't read a lot of classics before, I probably could have figured out all the words that were footnoted. So, that was a little annoying. But it doesn't take away from the story at all!

"Mrs. Darling is now dead and forgotten" Ich hab auch schon fröhlichere Kinderbücher gelesen.
As a kid I adored „Peter Pan“. As a grown-up I see some different tones to the story, but in my oppinion, this classic is one of the best children‘s stories.
