Some of the stories were similar enough to others the work as a whole felt repetitive at times, but overall it was interesting to read something I had heard referenced so many times before. I wonder how dark the original stories were- these ones didn’t seem too bad, but perhaps that’s due to different tastes in different eras.
Not really a great read…something was lost in translation, I’m sure. But it did make us laugh, sometimes only because the stories were so stupid or ended so abruptly. I’m glad to know that we’ve read some of the original Grimm’s fairy tales, though.
A worthwhile experience and a check off my book bucket list. But the stories are hit and miss.

همخوانی برادران گریم با چندتا از خفن‌ترین آدم‌هایی که تاحالا تجربه همخوانی باهاشون رو داشتم، از بهترین اتفاقات کتابخوانی امسالم بود.
یه دور قبلا یه سری داستان از برادران گریم خونده بودم که از نظر تعداد داستانی یک پنجم این کتاب هم نمی‌شد. این سری ای که زایپس جمع کرده تقریبا کامل‌ترین و بی‌سانسور شده‌ارین ورژن داستان‌هاشون بوده.
متعاقب همین هم بود که تعداد داستان با موضوع تکراری زیاد به چشم میومد.
کتاب در ابتدای هر ولوم توضیحی برای کل داستان‌ها و در انتهای کتاب ارجاعات ریز‌تری داشت.
در کنارش راجع به ساختار داستان‌های پریان کلی بحث شد و پیدا کردن ساختاراشون خیلی جالب بود.
این مدلی خوندن داستان‌های گریم ها نشون میداد نه فقط اون چیزایی که انیمیشن شدن و معروف ترن، نه ترسناک ها که تصور بیشتری دارن بلکه یه سری داستان کمدی جالب هم وسط داستان‌هاشون هست.
از یه جایی به بعد تا یه قسمتی سعی کردم برای داستان‌ها به صورت جداگانه ریویو بذارم اما از یه جا به بعد دیگه وقت نکردم.
فایل صوتی این کتاب هم هست که بجز پانویس های انتها، همه چی رو خونده بود و دو راوی خانم و اقا داشت که به صورت فوق‌العاده خوبی داستان‌ها رو خونده بودند.
مرسی از آرمان و مائده و علیرضا که کلی چیز ازشون یاد گرفتم و ارجاعات خیلی خوبی دادند و نظراشون باعث میشد با دید دیگه‌ای داستان‌ها رو ببینم.

My edition was quite tame in comparison to the stories I've heard of the Grimm brothers' fairy tales. I imagine that's because it's a Scholastic edition, although some moments surprised me with the casual violence.
This book was an easy read. I could burn through three tales in less than 20 minutes. They were all casually amusing, but nothing crazy, which is to be expected for such short fairy tales.
I would be interested to read more of them, especially some of the ones that may be too dark to be included in an edition intended for children.
I hesitate to put an actual rating on this book since it's not what I typically read.

Found these quite hard going (I think it would have been more enjoyable to have read them with an essay topic in mind rather than pre-reading). Interesting to see just how much gore has been stripped out of the modern versions, and also the obvious gaps where the sex was taken out of these.

Nice little book that helped me with my English reading and getting back into it. Just read a few chapters every now and then. Some tales were a bit weird though and the writing is sometimes hard to understand but any way, I liked most of the tales.
