this was so incredibly boring and i felt like i was in history class half the time. the inly time i was actually interested was the last like 20 pages. also, we spend like 50 pages on the river but it’s like the big selling point of the book? ok then

it’s also not fantasy, so negative points for lying to me

It did keep me engaged and reading, wanting to know what happened next. 

The section where Elvira was killed was a bit much and I don’t think necessary.

I really enjoyed the magic elements. The knowledge around the era and Egypt was fantastic.
