I loved this book so much! It’s described as The Mummy meets Death on the Nile, but I think it’s more like The Mummy meets the Amelia Peabody series, which is an ideal combination to me. 
I took two weeks longer to finish it than it should have if I hadn’t taken a break because I didn’t want it to be over. Can’t wait for the sequel!

I enjoyed this book, for as long as it took me to finally get around to reading it. I loved all the characters. The main POV character is your usual Plucky Female MC type, and her enemies-to-lovers romance with her love interest is always great. I think the author handled grief well; it didn't just disapear halfway or a quarter through the plot like it often does. Some of the plot points were fairly easy to spot, and the pacing stuttered and stopped, but yo....the end?

DIABOLICAL. I have mad respect for anyone who ends a book like that. Hot damn!

Will this be a book I pick up and reread? Likely not. But will definitely be reading the sequel!

first half of the book was absolute ass. second half...was barely tolerable. do not recommend. had some fun times toward the end, but still not fun enough to even think about without cringing

Wow this was such a great book!! It really is like the Mummy movie. The romance is very PG but you root for them. There’s a lot of surprise twists and they made me gasp out loud.  Especially at the end when I realized it’s a series and the next book is not out for a while 😒. I would like to read the next book in the series so that’s how you know it’s worth the read!

It was fun! I’d give it 5 stars except for the pacing. This was Fast paced and I didn’t have any time to breathe. It has lots of twists, which is great, but I wish this book had been split into two. It seemed like a lot of the atmosphere and character work got lost in all the action. It would have been a stronger story if more time were given to the set up, character interactions, and history. 
Still - archaeology, Egypt, magic, romance, drama, strong female characters. It’s a fun read
