My daughter wanted me to return this to the library but I hadn’t read it yet!

This is a perfect fall book, my third grader and I both loved it. Makes me think of hay rides and festivals and the hard parts of families and growing up and how middle school is just awkward for everyone (as we told my cousin who was a middle schooler at the time

As a kid who was similarly annoyed by relationship drama, I was a fan of this book. My one note is that it wasn’t super established that it was fine for the main character to not be interested in dating, especially since she’s a SIXTH grader?

I like this one more than the first in the series. It was definitely better paced. But I still dislike the mom's boyfriend.
