Super cute! And the step-father(?) wasn’t as mean in this one so that definitely bumped up a star.

Jen not being able to fit in and just wanting friends in sixth grade was super relatable. And I always love a pumpkin patch/Halloween themed book!

I love this as a follow up to Stepping Stones. Lucy Knisley's writing is so relatable for middle grade readers. Jen's noticed that everyone is starting to pair up, to have crushes on boys, and she just doesn't get it. She doesn't want to change like her friends seem to be, and she also doesn't want to be caught in the middle.

From the writing to the art, there is so much to love about this book. Lucy Knisley is a gem for middle grade readers and I can't wait to get this into their hands!
