Dude hätte einfach nach Hause gehen sollen. Aber, dieser ganz spezielle Wienerhate, den nur wir WienerInnen haben, ist perfekt dargestellt.

The narrator surely has a turbulent emotional life, and the book's concenpt was really perfect to showcase this. Just imagine this man sitting in the dark in his armchair, completely still and silent for almost the whole evening, but being torn apart by his emotions on the inside, and then muttering obscure words while the other dinner guest look over at him an think, wo the fuck is this? The only thing I missed was maybe a 50 page flashback to the time in Maria Zaal, and what exactly went down with the narrator and the couple Auersberger that caused such an inflamed hate-love.
