This was a good story…BUT, the “misunderstanding” trope is really not believable. I was listening to the audio and yelling at the narrator in front of my husband, because the crux of the story is just…moronic. I am planning to read the other books in the series. I hope they are not also like this. 🙄
It’s likely a me problem. I am in a reading slump and this was not a good pick for getting me out of it.
I will say that for the majority of this book, I was actually enjoying it. The characters are fun, the small town setting I really enjoyed. But the last third of this book was just not thought out. There was this weird mystery sub plot about someone trying to destroy the farm that was just glossed over and the third act conflict was so ridiculous and childish. I was at a 4 star until that, but when that happened, I was disappointed.
