This is a book about a man who is very musically attuned but not so good at relationships. "Fever Pitch" by Nick Hornby explored the passion men have for watching 22 men kick a ball around a park called Highbury. This explores another male obsession, that of music and making compilation tapes, very wise and funny.

Maybe I’d feel differently if I had read this when it first came out. I’m sure I would have. Because it hits a younger, indecisive chord. But to read about a man who acts like a child and treats women like objects and then finally grows up, kinda, just isn’t something I’m interested in. The writing wasn’t spectacular or poetic. It was plain and hesitant.

Favorite by this amazing author. Great book.
fast-paced

While I didn't love it, it was decent quick read. Amusing and fun, with some good characters (Jack Black really was the perfect choice for Dick in the movie version). A nice transitional read in-between the longer books I generally go for. Though Rob really is an arse...
