Was drawn to this because of the about a boy film and enjoyed the book for similar reasons. It’s got that constant sad and self depreciating tone which is somehow comforting. The music / record references remind me of about a boy. It’s overall a nice glimpse into that kind of male psyche - very different from most things I read. The repetitive ‘top 5…’ lists are funny and sweet and male core
