A little more self-helpy than I usually go for, but I suppose it was there in the title. I did enjoy her stories, which is what I WAS interested in.

I enjoyed this book. It was a very quick and easy read. Twyla has incredible determination and it's inspiring to read from someone who excelled in what she loves.

Extremely readable, Twyla Tharp is a no bullshit and practical kind of woman and I think I will definitely benefit from putting some of her advice into practice. I really like that each chapter comes with easily applicable exercises for daily life that aren't anything crazy but also not useless. The audio book is narrated by the author which is awesome. Bonus points because she's a choreographer and talks a lot about dance and her own experiences.

I don’t think I can review this book without superimposing my own thoughts about aging as a dancer. That’s probably the lens I read the book through to begin with. I have always enjoyed Twyla Tharp’s let’s get down to business attitude and she won’t ever lose that. It’s part of her DNA. But aging can act as a great and unwelcome equalizer and that’s the story she shares here.
What are we to do about this? In a title, keep it moving. For this dancer the takeaway is that yes, life and movement get different now but different needn’t be The End. None of us ever get younger and youth ain’t nothin but a phase. Having now outgrown youth, I find fresh perspectives in books like this one, and when you’re ready you might, too.

Repackaged the Creative Habit to appeal to people who are feeling down about their aging or changing abilities.

Excellent concept, didn’t quite fulfill my expectations
This book had too much biography for my tastes. I wanted more actionable advice. I liked the author’s other book and would’ve liked more of that format.
