DNF Review

I didn't know it had rape, so when I got there, I stopped reading.
I asked people who had read this thing and they told me of a second instance of rape that happened. I'd rather not continue.
It feels like it has sexual violence against women just for the sake of filling the "adult" aspect of this fantasy.

The writing felt pretentious.
The book starts and you just feel caught in the middle of it, no context, no timeline events that you understand.

Ninth House was a happy little accident, that landed on my Kindle when I realized this book I've been hearing everyone talk about was on Kindle Unlimited.

Imagine my surprise, when this book ended up one of my new favorites! I will be recommending this to everyone.

This book really has it all for me, from beautiful writing, fun adventures, a little bit of romance, and dripping in creativity and mystery. I loved being on this ride with Alex and my new beloved Darlington and I can't wait to read Hellbent next!

This book was SO SLOW. The amount of world building was important but it could probably have been done in 1/3 of the length. The story dragged and dragged and dragged. It finally got really good in the last 15% or so and now I'm rather annoyed to find that I'm invested and need to finish the series. I hope the rest of the books move a little faster.
