”I could not tell you if I loved you the first moment I saw you, or if it was the second or third or fourth. But I remember the first moment I looked at you walking toward me and realized that somehow the rest of the world seemed to vanish when I was with you.”
I don’t know weather to be amazed or annoyed by this woman’s skill to write books hundreds of pages longer than they should be and still add nothing to the plot. I have to admit that the language is beautiful and smooth, so while reading the book I enjoyed it. But looking back I can’t help but feel like it was way to long. And what even happened to bring the story forward?
Either way I find the story interesting and I like this one more than the first. We get to know the characters a lot more in this one and I enjoyed that we focused more on the characters. Even if it was long I can’t say that it was boring, it was enjoyable to read at least once. I also like Will a lot more in this book since we finally get to know about his past, he is so much more likable when you realize why act like he do.

Damn. It hurts. My heart was beating out of my body when all that shit between Will, Tessa and Jem happened. It's like being stuck in purgatory where I couldn't be happy for Jem, couldn't hate Tessa, and couldn't help being agonized for Will. I desperately wanted Tessa to end up with Will. Tessa with Jem felt wrong like bringing two friends together. Yet I wanted Jem to have Tessa because he deserves everything he desires in this world. But Will.... Such a broken heart and now he's suffering more than ever.
It's a mess. I'm no longer sure what i want to happen next. I cannot live with any of the two boys getting hurt. I dread what happens next.
Other than the love triangle i think the book is pretty normal and something is missing from the first book (maybe soul) though it had improved towards the end of this book.

My heart just broke in tiny tiny peaces. So happy for Henry and Charlotte but ... my poor baibes; james and will were breaking my heart little by little

cassandra, when i catch you, cassandra.
literally love tessa as a heroine. however, she must sharpen her wits at times.
could not put this book down for the life of me.
objectively, 4.75 stars. if i listen to my heart 5 stars, 5.5 stars even.

Not to be too dramatic but...Will Herondale could run me over with his carriage (gotta stay historically accurate) and I’d thank him
