Probably the most chilling narrator I've ever had the pleasure of running into. This book is worth the read just solely based off of the main character's inner thought processes (though, trust me, there are plenty of other redeeming qualities about this 2014 novel).

I watched the show first so I knew basically all the beats of the story but it was still thrilling to read again. Listening to Joe’s inner monologue is so sick and twisted. This book is also a lot funnier than the show which I enjoyed a lot. Highly recommend even if you’ve seen the show.

WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST READ. oh my God. This was horrific. It was just so. bad. The main character’s narration was awful, it got worse and worse as the book went on, and by the end it was unreadable, and I skimmed it, just enough so I knew what was happening. The girl he’s obsessed with SUCKS and her narcissistic personality pissed me off to no end. The slut shaming in this book was so over-the-top and intense and INSANE, that I really couldn’t take it by the end. I am so glad I didn’t spend money on this book. I wish I never read this. I seriously need to read something else NOW to cleanse my palette. This is a warning: NEVER READ THIS BOOK.

So, I figured out the end before the end... Joe was just too weird to let Beck continue as she was, and I totally got that early on.

I wasn't a fan of how the murders in the story were portrayed. I found that the planning or the work that went into the decision of how to end their lives was just not thought out well enough, and I wish we had more of a story to tell with each one of those.

This is definitely dark and twisted, overall it was pretty good and I can't wait to read more because I think this could turn into an interesting plotted series...

Good book! I really enjoyed joe as a character and enjoyed his dreaming and wishes of mundane love things that everyone dreams about, which makes him personable and great as for beck I couldn't stand her, she is a terrible character but I imagine that is the point all together it was worth the 4 stars

This audio was really good it was read in that really dry Joe voice.

If you have seen the tv the book is very similar. I’m excited to continue on the series.

"I know when you need your space. That’s why I got the beard."

I hate this man so very much. Nothing is his fault, he's totally perfect and not an awful person. Fuuuuuck you Joe Goldberg!

Otherwise, writing is good, story kept me hooked, but none of the characters were likeable, and the deaths were mostly 1 to 2 sentences long. I would totally read something else by this author, but probably not anything in this series
