I’d give this 3.5 stars. It was an easy and enjoyable read. Based on the title I was expecting a beachy read, which it really wasn’t. But i liked the California references, I enjoyed the characters and how the three sisters were so different and it had a satisfying ending. And I find it refreshing when an author doesn’t feel the need to give one of the characters cancer or some other awful disease so that was also a plus for me. Will definitely check out more of her books.
A wonderful story from master storyteller Susan Mallery!

I don't have a "womens lives and relationships" shelf and this would belong there, but am labeling it chick lit since it is kept on the light side with a strong dose of romance even though there are a few more serious issues included.
Was looking for a bit of escapist reading and this fills the bill. Three sisters, each with their own relationship crisis, respond in different ways to emotional stress. Their quirky mother adds to the mix.
Susan Mallery is a popular author and it is easy to see why with the wit and flirtation throughout. That said, I don't see why someone can't write about romance without the characters having super jobs like TV anchors, physical beauty on a par with a god/goddess, and/or they are millionaires. All at age 30 or thereabouts. That's my whine, I guess. Seems like when more ordinary people are written about, the book is labeled as a nice "love story."
Ends with positive messages. The women are all better off than before, wiser and more generous. Their men were either left in the dust or rose magnanimously to a new standard.

How is it three sisters, Finola, Zennie and Ali, all get dumped in the same week? Well, that is what happened, and in this engaging story by Susan Mallery, we get to meet each sister. Their breakups, relationship, and future are explored in this wonderful book.
Finola, an LA morning show host, finds out, while on live TV, that her husband is having an affair. To say Finola was in shock is indeed an understatement. Finola must fight the tabloids, as the rumors are vicious. Then we meet Zennie, who really could care less about being broken up. Her mind is set up as to what she plans on doing. Ali is the most surprising of all the sisters. Ali's fiancé sends his brother, Daniel, to let Ali know the wedding is off. Now that Ali and Daniel seemed to be thrown together, the two of them learn a lot about each other and something slowly begins to bloom.
Watching each sister rebuild her life was very rewarding while reading this book. I could barely put this book don. I felt so connected to Finola, Zennie and Ali. Daniel was exception in this story, as was his family. Zennie was exceptional, because she made an amazing decision to help her best friend. That truly was impressive.
In writing this review I keep thinking who might be my favorite of the three. I will easily say Ali. She had real problems with insecurity and her growth was just so impressive. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to checking out Ms. Mallery's backlist and well as any future works that are released.
Many thanks to Mira Books and to NetGalley for this ARC to review in exchange for my honest opinion.

Great book! This is the first one I've read by this author and I plan on checking out other ones in the future. Loved the different plot lines, the realistic ways things ended and began. There's other things I really loved about this book that I can't give away because I dont want to give spoilers.
If you want a fun, interesting, good beach read, summer read etc check this book out. :)

Maybe more like 3.5 stars.
This was a cute read that left me wanting to follow the sisters even when the book was over. I liked Zennie and Ali much more than Finola, although she did have a bit of a transformation in the book.
I enjoyed the writing style and it was fun to follow all three sisters as their lives were turned upside down. A bit predictable in some story lines, but others were pleasantly surprising.

Really enjoyed this book! Such down to Earth characters & relatable stories. Love Susan Mallery’s books!
