I genuinely adored this book. At first, I didn't think I would, but as I continued to read, my mindset changed. What each sister experienced was so different and so heartbreaking. I loved how each unique experience allowed them to grow in profound ways. They grew to know themselves. They matured with their familial relationships. They determined the course of their own destiny. They transitioned from unhealthy relationships. The most beautiful thing, however, was that they each took brave journeys towards love.

This latest offering from author, Susan Mallery is one not to be missed. California Girls needs to be in your bag for spring reading.
Sisters, Finola, Zennie, and Ali were great. Each sister was different in her own way. I loved this about them. Their personalities showed in this book. Although my favorite was probably Ali. She was more free spirited. The love connection between Ali and Daniel did produce real sparks. They made a good match.
I felt bad for Finola. It is bad enough learning that your husband is cheating with a younger woman but to learn that the other woman is your next guest on your television show is just pouring salt into a fresh wound. Finola was a downer because of this in the beginning but by the end of the story, she had a new release on life.
Finally, there is Zennie. She won my heart over with her choice to be a surrogate. To her sisters, she may not have seemed it but she was very level headed and a good friend and sister.
If you are a fan of this author's you won't be disappointed by this new book. Sisters forever.

This is the story of 3 sisters who all get dumped on the same day.
Ali was my favorite of the sisters. She gets dumped 2 months before her wedding and her fiance does not even do it himself. The more I heard of him I was all, you should have dumped him long ago.
And his brother Daniel, omg, what a man! He was everything her sucky fiance should have been. So yes obvi something will start to grow there
Finola was somewhat cold. She was just so career oriented. Of course that did not give her husband the right to cheat, talk people! I also feel that she clung to his memory too long.
Zennie, well I do understand why her family and friends felt like she rushed into things. I felt like she rushed into things. Her friends wanted a baby, she said yes to being their surrogate. But even though it was her egg she never thought more of it. I mean that is your baby! That is not their baby, that is half their baby and half yours! Yes, awesome thing to do, but still your baby.
They all deal with their own things as the story progresses, and with their mum getting rid of their old place.
It was a more, oh I can not find the right word, not slow, just peaceful (still not the right word). The only real drama being when Finola found out the truth.
But a good book

I felt she did justice to all the sisters. They had their own voices. She got the mood of the book too

What a light and wonderful story of 3 sisters who are figuring things out after they all have similar aspects of their lives change the same week. I found myself wanting to stick more with each sister, especially Ali, and wanted a little more time of them interacting together, but it was a great story of family, sisterhood and new beginnings. With a Susan Mallery book you are never disappointed.
2.5 stars. While I really enjoyed the beginning of the book, I had some grievances with Zennie's ending and I hatedddd so much of Finola's storyline. Ali's was probably the most likeable. My main disappointment with Zennie's story was that she suddenly wanted to be in a romantic relationship at the end when I was really hoping for a QPP or just a friendship. And my main complaint with Finola's story was that EVERYONE acted like she was as much to blame for their marriage failing as her lying cheating coward of a husband. Like what?! She had work ambition so clearly it's her fault he felt neglected and needed to cheat. *eyeroll* give the misogyny a break
I liked the way Mallery interweaved the stories of three sisters who all got dumped in the same week. I laughed out loud a few times too, which was a definite plus.
