super rushed, nothing really made sense or got developed but i needed a quick read to get me out of a slump and this did it for me. really easy and light hearted read, overall just pleasant and nothing more

 This was a strange book to write a review for. I didn’t hate it, took me less than a day to read, but I didn’t really like it either.

It was too…simple? Everything went along easily for the characters and it was laid out with no in-depth thought or development, the world and characters were one dimensional and reallllly young.

It read almost like a middle grade book at times, the conflict arises and is solved within a page with not much description or effort. I dunno, I’m having trouble explaining it.

I finished this in one day, because, honestly, it was good, yes, but there was nothing that gave such a strong feeling about it all. The moments that maybe should I feel intriguing, felt the same as the all the other moments. But I liked it, the writing was good. And please, Shay and Garrett were chef's kiss.
