Christmas and Kilts!
I can’t get enough of the Scottish world Tricia O’Malley writes. There’s so much whimsy, magic and small town romance to enjoy and love. Rosie is an American who inherits more than she thought when she moves to a small Scottish town to run a bookshop that just so happens to also offer magical matchmaking.
There’s a lot to unpack with this new adventure and bumping into hottie Alexander MacTavish on her first day is just one of them. He’s a hot, broody, bird loving, software engineer and PT teacher. He’s not interested in finding love and he’d much rather live like a hermit than get drawn into drama or romance. However, there’s something about Rosie that just sizzles between them and before he knows it the local book club ladies have roped him into helping Rosie with a holiday competition.
There’s so much to enjoy in this book. I love all the characters and feel of this small Scottish town. Alexander is so swoony in his broodiness and the way this man cares for those he loves is top tier. Rosie is trying to get past her own baggage and embrace this new life to the fullest, but sometimes we stand in our own ways. Alexander and Rosie both have to leave to overcome personal fears and insecurities, but it’s so beautiful when they finally figure it all out. The romance was giving, the spice was lovely and I enjoyed some laughs too. This was the whole package. I loved this book so much and I highly recommend it if you love HEA’s that give you the happiest of warm hugs.
