I really loved the idea of this book. It's reflective of a summer you can relate to or kind of always wanted. It also explores young love & real life troubles & worries. That being said, I found Belly's characrer confusing. Often she seemed really mature in her flashbacks which ranged from age 11 to 14 but then when she's 15/16 she has a more immature outlook. I also found the flashbacks themselves a little confusing. They seemed misplaced a lot & irrelevant & the disorder of them made the story hard to follow. I also felt like Cam was super toxic & was an odd side interest, if you could even call him that.

Look, it's not bad. This is the kind of book you read while you're laying on the beach and need an easy vacation read or in the backseat during a roadtrip. There's no real plot, but it does end on a cliffhanger that makes you interested in seeing what happens next.

I would've liked to see more character development, for Belly to take some accountability for her actions, but again, I didn't dislike it. The concept is there for a great YA novel with some substance but it just doesn't perform.

Wanted to see what the hype was about. It’s “cute” enough to finish but I don’t feel compelled to read the whole series. Definitely reminds me of early 2000s teen drama series and beaches which the nostalgia was worth the read alone. I don’t mind the time line jumps. It added to the development of the characters
