This is by far the best book of the series and I really enjoyed how the author brought everything together. The first two books while telling their own parts of the tale set up this one for the final showdown.
I’ve really enjoyed Lance’s growth throughout the series, he has gone from being quite childlike to a man protecting his family. Parts of this book were pretty brutal and Lance’s past is no exception. It was lovely seeing Lance connect with his people and the family that he and Gust were making.
Gust came into his own for me as the heart of the warrior in this one, his character has also evolved during the series and during their trek across the countries he has done what was required to keep them safe all the while keeping to his values as a healer.
I enjoyed the mythology in this one and how that was used in the final showdown
