Targeted st young teens.
A story of growing into one's skin and learning to stand away from the crowd. Letting go of the things that hurt you.
There's no warning for this, but there is an attempted rape.

This book didn’t suck but I just wasn’t feeling it. I didn’t really like Maleeka all that much and I just felt like the writing wasn’t that clear at a lot of points. I’m really disappointed by the fact my school picked this for a Battle of the Books book when it is filled with so many trigger warning worthy things. I.e, child abuse, arson, toxic friendships, suicide jokes, racism, body-shaming, and those are just the ones off the top of my head.
Graphic: Toxic friendship
Moderate: Body shaming, Child abuse, Death of parent, Fatphobia, Racism, and Violence
Minor: Slavery
