Nacht van het kwaad

Ken Follett

4.25 AVERAGE

Not quite as good as the first book, but still a very good read. Nice to favorite characters again and watch their story play out.

I love a good historical fiction/saga and this one is great. It's number 2 in Ken Follett's "Century Trilogy". I read the first book about 18 months ago - and I like to read series with gaps of time in between so I don't get sick of the story or characters. This book opens as the last one finished, at the end of WWI. The book traces 4 families, in the US, England, Russia and Germany as they go through the inter war years and then WWII. I've just bought book 3, but will wait a while to read it - because then the series will be over!!

Ken Follett is my love, my darling, my honeybun. And his book Winter of the World ? The cherry on top.

And its a huge cherry.

And delicious.

Maybe its because I am a huge fan of World War II - I love reading about, writing about it, listening to people speak about it, watching documentaries about it - but all I can say is that this book is AWESOME .

Nothing is beautiful about this book. The characters have hideous flaws that make you want to smack them around so badly they will never get up, but those flaws MAKE THEM REAL. It is so easy to forget that Woody and Lev and Boy and Daisy and Maud and Carla are not REAL and instead fictional characters created by Mr. Follett.

I think I learned more about World War II than I did in my IB H History class and whenever I go to write an essay about it I find myself thinking of what happened in Winter of the World . I hope that Follett did his research because I based most of my essays on him -_-

I cannot wait for the next installment. Considering that the [b:Fall of Giants|7315573|Fall of Giants (The Century Trilogy #1)|Ken Follett|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1369453737s/7315573.jpg|8842841] was amazing and Winter of the World was bum dropping awesome, I can only imagine what the third will be like.

Will it be Cold War?

Basically this book was awesome, and I loved it. Kisses

A-

I liked it better wasthe first book which I thought more of history book with fictional characters than a novel.

The second book focuses on the children of the first book.
