Either you’ll hate it or love it, depending on how you choose to let the characters depict your opinions (especially Henry)

I've been experiencing the symptoms of BPD while reading this book.

Chapter eleven was a snoozefest to get through, though afterwards I enjoyed the rest of the book a lot better than the part before it.

I understood this book, I understood its message, but my god will you ever finish a sentence, Mr Wilde? I would start reading a sentence then forget what I even read by the end of it.

It's a 4.5 for me. If chapter 12 and onwards didn't exist, it would've been lower.

One of the easiest beginner classics tbh. Basil deserved better. Rating would be higher if Dorian didn't go on about the things he loved for 20 pages.

While dotted with funny moments and pithy witticisms, the book is really haunted by the author. It's difficult to ignore his transparent interest in underaged boys, and assuredness in his own intellect. But it's still a very interesting read, especially as a somewhat unconventional gothic novel.

A very interesting story. Many sentences were beautifully written and others a tad redundant. Overall enjoyed the story. A few parts dragged on with the descriptions of w.e. was happening. Good points to learn from the greediness some have with youth and the obsession to be considered "interesting".

Vanity is rampant in almost every character.

Henry can kick rocks. He's an asshat.

Oscar Wilde's writing is so nice to read. Dorian's not as bad as they say but he's been up to some bad stuff.
