Good addition

This was another good addition to the series. It was nice to see Freya accept a little more of her power, and I can only hope that more of her background is revealed as the books continue. My only point of confusion is that in the first book, it's only been 2 years since their parents left. Towards the end of this book, Freya claims it's been 10...but it doesn't even seem to have been a year between all the events in the faerie realm. I know time moves different in the faerie realm, but some clarity there would be appreciated.
Otherwise, the story itself was satisfying, and I look forward to reading more.

3.5⭐️. Freya went from being an independent woman to a belligerent teenager in this book. She’s constantly irrational and reckless. She’s also become entitled in that she’s angry when someone doesn’t want to drop everything to help her with her shit. Also it doesn’t make sense why she can’t express her feelings. I will keep reading the series but this was not as enjoyable as the first two. I hope Freya goes back to being likeable and not so insufferable

Freya's Story is Definitely Interesting

In some ways, this series reminds me of Harry Potter. By that I mean that each book has its own unique obstacle or quest. Although unlike Harry Potter there is not an overarching villain. Each book feels very separate from the previous.

I will continue the series because I am curious to know where it ends. But I find myself continually frustrated by both Freya and Eldridge. It could be because I feel that the author could have taken more time for us to understand the growth of the characters and their thought processes. As it is, I feel lost with their reactions at times. It was also surprising how Freya came into her power so quickly without the process of learning to understand it being told. It's also frustrating to me that Freya is so much wiser in many ways than Eldridge, considering that he is supposed to be over a thousand years old. He seems almost like a reckless teenager, constantly underestimating his opponent and relying on Freya to come up with the plan of action.

I do enjoy this series but I'm so torn on how I feel about Freya and Eldridge. For an immortal and a 24 year old (am I remembering that correctly?) I feel like neither of them act terrible.. mature/adult-like the majority of the time? I don't know. They just seem very whiplashy with their behavior. Maybe it's just me.

Why is the main character so annoying in this book? Specifically all the scenes in the mines, she acted like a literal 4 year old. Lol I liked her in the past 2 books at least. But this one made it hard to tolerate her.

The FMC got on my nerves. She was always trying to rush into danger and would begrudgingly accept help when it was obvious she needed it. She also has problems accepting who she is and her feelings for the Goblin King. Basically, she's a hot mess.
