I thoroughly enjoyed every second of this fantasy romance! It was dark, twisting, and full of heart. Although there were some minor issues, they never took away from my enjoyment of the story and I can admit I was fully addicted.
The world of Blunder was strange, mysterious, and volatile, reminiscent of a gothic fairytale. It felt like a character in itself, with its poisonous mist, dark forest, and hidden history. The magic system was compelling and I was intrigued by the contrast between Providence Cards and the infected. Likewise, the characters were nuanced and sometimes surprising, and I particularly liked Elspeth and Ravyn. Their romance was sweet and heart-wrenching, although it was at first a little “insta-lovey”. Nevertheless, I loved their dynamic and I’m excited to see how they progress in the sequel.
This book could at times suffer from a lack of development, particularly where characterisation was concerned, and an additional hundred pages could have done a lot to rectify that. Similarly, it could be a little predictable and wasn’t quite as scary (in my opinion) as was said. However, these issues were relatively minor for me as I was thoroughly hooked from the first page, and I would still absolutely recommend it to anyone who wants to give it a go. I’ll be diving straight into the sequel 😍

I loved the atmosphere and the rhymes, which gave it a creepy fairytale flavour. It was also written in such a close third POV that you felt very close to what Elspeth did. I liked the unique magic system and the way it impact the world this is set in.
That's all I want to say. Or else it would spoil it.
