And I’m glad I did — the end was ROUGH, but so good. But uh if you just finished Gideon the Ninth (like I did), maybe read a palette cleanser book between them. The endings are… similar.

This book was advertised as enemies to lovers, but I don’t quite see it. I still enjoyed the characters, but they shouldn’t be called enemies to lovers.
The story took me a bit longer than normal to get into, but it gets better. Not quite a 5 star, but I will be reading book 2.

In the beginning I was a bit confused with the Providence Cards etc. but that resolved over the course if the book. Overall a really great book that does not have too much fantasy but some parts of it. Would recommend!
