According to Cam everyone is on a shelf and should only date people on the same shelf as themselves. That is why Tyler, her roommate, is not an option, they are on different shelves. Love, however, doesn’t know how her shelves work.

So, I enjoyed this story for the most part. Some of the things seemed a bit weird and out of place. A lot of the issues between Cam and Tyler were cause by withholding information important towards their relationship, either to protect themselves or the other person.

That annoyed me a lot because I knew if Tyler had all the info things wouldn’t have blown up like they had, same with Tyler telling Cam about the full story with what happened between him and Kyle at the club. Communication is key!

Other than a few moments at the beginning where I was nitpicking a few word choices and descriptions, I overall felt that it was a cute story with some hiccups here and there.

Definitely want to read more from this author though.

Cam is a shy bookworm who works at Wasted Words which is a bookstore, bar and cafe all in one. Her roommate Tyler is an ex football player who is hot. Cam makes it her mission to help gets couples together who are on the same “shelf” and this is due to something that happened to her when she was in high school. These two are so relatable because you can see that Cam doesn’t think she is good enough for someone like Tyler.
Tyler on the other hand has feelings for Cam and thinks she’s perfect the way she is. Outside forces try to keep them apart as she is not someone he would normally go after and Cam needs to recognize that she isn’t always right and to realize that she can’t let hurt from the past influence her future.

Super cute light read with a HEA and a standalone. Much like her other series. I like that I knew what I was going into with this one. I liked that it was friends to lovers and I liked that the male was super patient. I did feel a little rushed at the end and how the "drama" was settled. All and all like I said it was very cute and a light read, would be great after reading something with heavy emotion.

Okay here's the thing - it's barely and adaption of Emma. It's a traditional romance with a third act break up. "Emma" is barely recognisable, there's none of existing side characters except for a shallow portrayal of the harriet/martin/Elton relationship. No Mr.Woodhouse!!!

Despite all of this, I found Tyler totally charming and a real Mr.Knightley.

That doesn't cover the other sins tho. Alas.

This book has promise, but sadly is another “girl with glasses” who iSn’T LiKe oThEr gIrLs. She hurts someone to protect herself & it’s just too cliche. Insecurity isn’t sexy or interesting and I wasn’t a fan.

This was just so slow. Three whole pages of the MMC’s thoughts. I just don’t care about that.
