I have mixed feelings, I love Rachel Harrison's books but this one didn't give me the usual vibes, humour and creepiness. Maybe it was because I experienced it as an audiobook, or maybe it was because it was a too short story for me to feel anything strong towards it.
Still, it had its charm.

February 2024. Audible original by Rachel Harrison, this was decent but not comparable to her other works I’ve really loved.

For as short as this story is, it covers a lot of ground. It has a bit of an odd duplicity in FMC’s perspective and motivations, but I still enjoyed it.
I did not love this audiobook as much as I wanted to! Audible has been coming through with some quality Audible Originals but unfortunately this one was not one of them. I typically love horror books but I think the story didn't work for me because it was too short. If this was a novella or a full-length book vs. a short story, I would've enjoyed the story more. It was too short for me to get invested in the characters or the story. I think the premise of the story was absolutely clever and brilliant - just would like to see this in a longer-length book.
