I am loving this book so far! The characters are well developed, the story line constantly changes, but is nevertheless fascinating. John Irving is a great writer. Complicated, complex, and confusing relationships are the underlying theme of this book. Hilarious, entertaining, and intriguing all at the same time. This is one of those books that wants you to turn off your phone, hide in your room, and read until you've gotten to the last page.

When I first started reading this book, I couldn't quite figure out what it was about. People would ask me if I was enjoying it, and I would say, "I don't know".
It seems to me that the book really got good and had me caring only after 300 pages. After that I got sucked in to what the book was about and I couldn't really put it down. I had been trying to make my way through it so I could finish & start another book but now I only want to reread it to see what I missed the first time I read it.

I want to thank Janet for loaning me this book. This book was rather quirky and original. Not like anything that I have read before. The characters were very colorful. It is amazing that this book was written in 1976.
