Amazing! Off to the next one!

Alan Moore's Swamp Thing run is the best thing of his I've read. Better than Watchman and Vendetta. Probably my favorite series this side of Doom Patrol. Wide ranging, inventive, exceeding expectations. The fact that Moore can do this much with a plant-man is astonishing.

The scene where Swamp Thing is dreaming about his humanity hasn't left my mind yet. In fact, as of July 12th, 2012 I have plans to get this panel tattooed on my leg. That's how much I loved this comic. The story, the art and the writing in this volume are all amazing.

Alan Moore really knows how to tell compelling stories. His writing paired with phenomenal art penciled by both Bissette and Totleben (and sometimes Veich) is really top notch. This setting and character give off such a strange, creepy vibe that comes together so well. Really really love the second issue of this book. The first issue is a bit confusing though because it’s finishing off a former storyline. Very excited to see what comes next!

I love Alan Moore’s writing. This, like Watchmen and V for Vendetta, is another deeply interesting and complicated work which, as described by many, changed the comic medium. All the different components of a comic come together here to make an almost perfect work. The only thing I think is missing is more interesting lettering (maybe more like Sandman) but I think that this may have been before that type of lettering was acceptable—or at least marketable—in a mainstream title.

Buddy reading these with my husband! 2nd time for him, but 1st for me and I'm loving it.
