If you're already somewhat steeped in mindfulness or western takes on Buddhism this isn't going to have a lot that is surprising to you. My therapist recommended I read through it and I see why - it definitely supports a lot of what she and I have mentioned, but I didn't find it exactly revelatory. A good listen nonetheless.
This book has altered the way I think and see life. Excited to see how it bleeds into my mindset.
Amazing master class on how to manage inner energy so that we can live more fully!

Read this for book club at my yoga studio and honestly didn’t bother with the final chapter. It felt really forced as if the author was writing an essay with a word count. There were some highlights I made at the beginning of the book but the second half just felt like there wasn’t really additional content, and then he started throwing in bible quotes. It also was quite dismissive in trauma and other experiences people have by just saying to let things go and move on. While there can be parts of that for enlightenment it felt disingenuous. Also, once you “reach enlightenment” you don’t stay there forever, it will always take work but he didn’t speak to this at all. Mostly it felt like this was written by a privileged white man.
Well another audio book. I have no clue where I found this, not sure it was a rec but the cover had a horse on it so that could’ve attracted me to it. Pretty solid self help/spiritual guide book. If I wasn’t listening, I’d def highlight some good points. My one issue I find with these types of books are how repetitive they become. Literally rephrasing the same point 69 times. I get it!
A few weeks ago I went on a first date and the person kept saying my goal of “wanting to find everlasting happiness” is impossible because happiness is fleeting- I didn’t have the words to explain my thoughts on this but after this book, I feel more confident in explaining what I mean/t— the term “unconditional happiness” was used and I highly align with it. So suck it T****.
Nice reminder for me in terms of understanding that thoughts are thought and emotions are emotions and nothing is ever permanent but also your heart feels feelings quite strongly BUT that’s just it, they’re just feelings. Great section on death too and just how greatly death can prepare us (hopefully) for a fulfilling life— recommend if you’re into Buddhism/eastern philosophy in general and looking to maybe quiet your internal, nagging voice in your head that makes you feel a little crazy

✨ “There is nothing more important to true growth than realizing that you are not the voice of the mind
- you are the one who hears it.”. - Michael A. Singer, The Untethered Soul
📍 Contemporary, spiritual nonfiction
Singer writes with simplicity and grace, exploring how to quiet the inner chatter and find freedom in awareness. For readers of Eckhart Tolle or Pema Chödrön, this book offers gentle yet profound insights on survival of the spirit — how to release, let go, and return to stillness. It’s less about answers and more about opening space for a new way of seeing.
⚠️ Content Warnings: Abstract spirituality, discussion of death and mortality.
🌶 Spice Level: 0/5 (no romance or sexual content).

Nah, this book is dangerous for people with no critical thinking, cause they’ll accept it as truth and ruin their life
