This book really makes you look at many situations and moments in life from a completely different perspective. I particularly appreciated the gradual structure, which leads the reader from more accessible questions and shifts in mindset toward more complex topics of spirituality and a new way of viewing the world. However, I would have appreciated more real-life examples and more concrete guidance, since putting some of this thoughtful ideas into practice can be a bit challenging.

A very interesting read!!! Several times I found myself shaking my head feeling the exact same way the author described. Definitely interesting points to learn from! The audible reader was great!
I could see this being useful for some, but it is mostly "let go of your problems and you'll be happy".
Honestly, I was hoping it would be a narrative of someone on a self finding journey rather than self help, so I wasn't the target audience.
Sorry to say but I zoned out for the majority of the second half of this book when I realized what it was

I DNF-ed it, went back to it, and decided to DNF it once and for all.
Maybe I would have had a different experience if I read instead of listened to it. But when listening to this, I couldn’t help but think 2 things:
Maybe I would have had a different experience if I read instead of listened to it. But when listening to this, I couldn’t help but think 2 things:
- A lot of things said are easier said than done, and I don’t feel like that’s given enough acknowledgement by the writer.
- This book would be great for someone who has never once self-reflected.
Overall, this book was very helpful, and the ideas presented can and will be applied in my daily life. Somewhat life-changing if you let it and are blessed to be privileged enough that the contents of the book can be applied at all.
However, there were a couple of things that prevented this from being 5 stars.
First, mentions/short examples using depression as a mood like sadness, as if you can think really hard and it will go away. That rubbed me the wrong way in the first half of the book, and then it was mentioned again later on. Should’ve been left out altogether.
Next, the religion comparison was confusing. You don’t need to have a religion to apply this, but all of the religions have this idea, but mine directly applies. It’s joking around with the idea of being inclusive. It’s just not.
Last, the ideas presented in the book make it seem like anyone can worry less and live a more spiritual life. But the examples described specifically in this book is really for if you are privileged enough to not have any major struggles in your life to begin with. If you’re imprisoned, you should just be happy a good guy was once in prison and you can compare yourself to them?? huh? The content of the book does not account for other situations than the perfect case of it all being in your head/taught essentially. Which is fine, it just can’t claim that it is the be-all, end-all.
