It was a really nice and adventurous story. The writing trasports you to other places and you can feel like you are under the sun and in the sea. Unfortunately, there are a lot of sailing terms that I have no idea what do they mean. In the beginning, it was really interesting and exciting, but after a while I got a bit overwhelmed. I would like a bit less of terminology and more of character development in order to rate it more than 3 stars.
However, a really entertaining book.

I received an Arc by the author and am voluntarily leaving my review.

A lot of the characters seem robotic, so I didn’t really enjoy this

Lila goes on a backpacking trip to South America and one of her bucket list items is to cross the Panama Canal. She joins a sailboat as a crew member and there she meets Eivind, and there is an instant attraction. Next thing she knows, she’s changing her itinerary to spend 26 days on ocean to stay with Eivind and continue to learn about sailing.

This book is full of adventure. I appreciated that it wasn’t super dramatic and that allowed the focus to be on the actual adventure in the story. I was really impressed by the detailed knowledge Liz Alden has both about the area and sailing and that made the story even better. This was a great book to read during my spring break escapist readathon.

Thank you to Liz Alden for the advanced digital copy in exchange for an honest review!

Eh. Lotta details and not enough plot for me.

The story
Lila is an Australian engineer who lands in Panama and is looking to crew on a sailboat that is crossing the canal. She befriends an older couple staying in the marina, and is then offered the chance to join a crew with two handsome Norwegian brothers. Older brother Jonas is the captain and owner of the sailboat, Eivind is crewing for him. Lila has her eyes set on Eivind and it doesn’t take long for things to hot up in their relationship.

My thoughts
The author’s real life knowledge of sailing the oceans is put to great use taking us on the amazing three week long ocean sailing adventure that Lila joins Jonas and Eivind on. The relationships between the crew members, finding ways to keep occupied during the waiting time, the lull interspersed with the scary moments. And not a little amount of steam between the two MC’s! Loved how this story took me right out of my comfort zone!

3.5 Stars! A sweet, sexy and surprisingly informative book!

Lila - this story is told solely from her POV. It follows her on a journey of self-discovery before settling down and starting a career. Her initial plan was to find a crewed boat and sail through the Panama Canal, followed by backpacking around South America. This all changed though when she starts to get closer to the sexy first mate, Eivind, on board. Will she change her plan to continue sailing across the Pacific with them? Can she risk her heart when she knows they'll have to finally go their separate ways?

Eivind - hunky Norwegian first mate and brother of the captain of the Eik sailboat. With his life seemingly going nowhere, he decides to join his brother on his quest to sail the Pacific Ocean. What he didn't expect was to find a gorgeous Australian who stole his heart along the way. He doesn't want to abandon his brother on his journey, but can he just let her go? I wish we had his POV, to really get into his mind!

This is a sweet slow burn, with some spice along the way, which follows a couple trying to figure out where they want to go in life. And who with. There was a lot of technical sailing jargon in this book, which did go over my head a lot, but it really showed how much the author actually knew what she was talking about. Which was super refreshing! Overall a nice easy, low angst read!

**Honest ARC review**

No cheating. Slight cliff-hanger (although nothing involving the MCs, but of more an introduction of where I think Jonas' book will follow). HEA guaranteed.
