Oh boy did I get sucked in on the very first chapter! Like I legit inhaled this and finished it in 1 day. All I gotta say is this man FILTHY. This brings all the spice and then some more. Although I must admit as much as I love possessive alphas but this man just lets any tiny little thing bother him. Now what really got me excited was a special cameo we get from a certain someone in the end. Overall I really did life this book and cannot wait for Lucas story.

This was a DNF for me. The premise seemed interesting and the Mafia angle had the potential to be badass. I got about 60% of the way through before getting fed up. It just isn’t for me.
The characters felt flat to me. No one’s motivations were super clear and I felt like the stakes could have been higher. The most exciting scene I read was when the MMC gets shot and then nothing ever comes from it. Missed opportunity. Overall, the MMC presents like a bunch of alpha/breeding tropes in a trench coat. And I couldn’t even tell you anything about the FMC other than she feels like the color beige and apparently doesn’t need to breath through blowjobs.
The sex scenes were well done in the first half. Definitely high spice and quite literally “starts with a bang.” However, I have never read a book with this many blow jobs in it. Like an insane amount. A colossal amount. I guess the authors name should have been a hint.
TW: There is also a surprising amount of non-con and degradation sex scenes. I wasn’t prepared for that and it just seemed to be escalating, so that’s when I finally DNFed.

Love Emi and Shaw! I loved how even though Shaw was over the top protective and possessive, he still let Emi make her own choices and to voice what she wanted, which was a nice change for her being a mafia princess under her brother's control. Emilia also made an amazing strong, mafia princess who could handle her own even though she was constantly under someone else's control. She was so amazing and mature, and I really enjoyed watching her come into her own. This story was also unbelievably HOT and spicy! Amazing read, and loved getting to see Finn!

I enjoyed the pacing of the book and the actual reading. I don’t the like MMC and how he treats the FMC. He doesn’t know how to handle his emotions and takes it out on her multiple times. He apologizes every time but it gave toxic ex more than loving partner

I don't know how BJ Alpha does it, but her story NEVER disappoints! Shaw was a steamy, emotional read that I couldn’t put down because I wanted to read more about Shaw and Emi! There were some hot as he|| steamy scenes, scenes that made me want to punch certain people, gut punches, and suspense! It had everything a reader could want in a story.
