I couldn't be happier with my last book read in 2015. An amazing space-opera, beautifully written, with a level of details that is usually hard to find. And I loved it, as I always love stuff that involves space. I love space. Battlestar Galactica, Interstellar, Alien, Aliens, The Martian, Gravity... all movies/tv shows that I loved, some of them are in my all time favourites list, but I hardly ever read about space. For some reason it always has been something that I loved to see on the big screen but that I thought would never be well translated into the book form. I was completely wrong. This book is amazing, it captured me from the first page and I can't wait to read the others in the series.
In the meantime, there's the tv show that has been just renewed for a second series! I hope is good..

This was some good space opera. The characters were well-built, the stakes sufficiently high. It felt cozy in the way that good sci-fi does. I wasn't on the edge of my seat, but I was thoroughly invested and read this in longer stretches than I normally read. It was just good.

I look forward to continuing this journey with the next entry.

I watched the TV series before reading the book. I typically do it the other way around. It was interesting to see the differences, but the overall storyline was faithful to the book. The science was decent, which was nice. It was a page-turner, and I will likely read the next book in the series.

DNF- I was intrigued, because it’s read so well. It’s good, probably. However, I was overwhelmed by how many books there are, and I figured it was a huge commitment. Also though, I rarely read books written by men anymore, and I gotta say I’m intolerant of even a little misogyny from characters at this point. So, I gotta pass.
