this must be one of the WORST and i mean the WORST mystery books I've ever read. It might just be a me problem, but i honestly cant understand how anyone can be entertained by this. The characters are surface level, and not only that, but random characters are thrown in the storyline and I'm expected to know who each person is. There are too many characters, so all remain surface level with no/little depth explored, and everyone was either spoiled, rich or bratty. The mystery part of it was also VERY mediocore. It's literally about a girl who wants to find the identity of her "father;" i mean honestly, how can i be kept invested if all we're looking for is the f**ker of the mother of the protagonist? And, as i mentioned before, youre not given a chance to CONNECT with the characters, so how can I be kept on edge if I don't really know much about each character's backstory? The odd skips and jumps in the story took me a while to get used to. Im honestly surprised that Jennifer Lynn Barnes wrote this, as the Inheritance games is one of my favorite series.

Sawyer was actually one of the most infuriatingly shallow characters I have ever experienced. Although I was entertained with the story, it was also shallow, rushed and super predictable.
