This was fine. Nothing fantastic. And it really fell flat at the end to me

A gripping thriller with heart. I could not put it down and kept trying and failing to predict the next plot twist.

Listened to this one. The reader was excellent and the story was super suspenseful. I was t super crazy about the ending, but there were definitely a lot of twists and turns!

Ooh I enjoyed this one, it kept me guessing right up to the end.

I liked that all of the characters were amiable to actually likeable (unlike books like Blood Orange where everyone was just awful), it made me actually care about what was happening and whodunnit.

This was really twisty and I enjoyed the back stories that were explored. The only thing I'd say is I wish Steph and Emma had grown closer in the end and actually confided with each other. But I'd say maybe that's too fairytale, this was more true to life going right back to old routines etc

This was a little gem of a thriller for me! It hit so many things that I love in a thriller including a fast start with immediate interest, secrets upon secrets, many twists and reveals, and an ending that just keeps going. I was supremely engaged the whole time and was riveted to see how all the different points of view connected (with many wrong guesses). It was so interesting to see this book unravel in order to connect.

There are only a couple of minor things I might pick at but really, I enjoyed this book from the second I started listening. There is a ton to unpack from every character and Helen Cooper did a great job at slowly unraveling those stories, giving just enough away to keep the reader guessing and asking questions. I thought just one more thing could have gotten resolved and/or connected to really round out the book but that was about the only piece that was left hanging. Rounding up on star rating for the inability to put it down.

Cool “plot twisty” story with multiple perspectives and a secondary flashback plot line. Not a HUGE fan of the ending but a solid thriller if that’s what you’re looking for. Heavily explores the “how well do you REALLY know your neighbors/family” concept. I’d give it 3.5 if I could do half-stars on here.

Really enjoyed this book. It had me hooked right from the start.

I loved the setting of the converted Georgian townhouse and that everyone lived in the same building.

The story is told in multiple POV’s which I always enjoy especially in a thriller. I do like to hear from other perspectives. It also follows different timelines but I found it easy to follow.

I wasn’t sure how this one was going to turn out in the end as there were plenty of twists and turns.

This was an excellent debut and I look forward to reading the next book by this author.

This was a good thriller that kept me engaged, helped by the differing points of view- a device which I love in a thriller!
I was interested to see where the story would take me, once it had settled in. It took me a while to get into, and I tend to not rate a book highly if this happens. I love a book to grip me from the outset.
The ending was okay, but didn't wow me, and I have to say this book wasn't all too memorable.
I'm starting to wonder if my standards for thrillers are too high these days!
