This is a very short book, less than 85 pages. I appreciate that I was able to finish something. A small win still feels like a balm for my spirit.

This is a story about a neighbor dispute and environmental contamination caused by toxic spills and dumping of chemical waste.

It is a horror novel that reads very quickly. The pace is fast and the writing is straightforward. I found it to be a good story. It isn't filled with details, which I found to be fine. I didn't feel like I was missing anything.

I get frustrated with the “convenient technology remembering/forgetting.” Sometimes, the main character used his phone to take pictures and call the police. Then, he seemingly forgot about his cell and behaved helplessly. A bit frustrating, but I try to let characters live their lives and make their own decisions so whatever.

I don't really care for the ending. I wanted more, personally, but I didn't mind being dropped into the drama of this guy's life temporarily.

Not a terrible read. Just wish there was more detail and a better explanation of what Bobby Jo was.

I think some people went into this book with their expectations too high. Like probably everyone here, I ordered this book to support an author on TikTok. This is an interesting, quick, novella read. This book absolutely could have been longer, but I’d rather have an underdeveloped story than an overdeveloped story. I would love to see another book continuing the story.

I want to preface this by saying I did not finish this book. Even though it’s only like 80 pages I just couldn’t do it. It feels like a very rough draft of a final book or a vague outline of a story that could be really good and just wasn’t. What lost me was the referring to women as “females”. I stopped reading after that because it just didn’t feel like a woman wrote this book and felt it was ok to just label us as “females”. Thats a very incel word and I strongly disliked that unless it’s under certain circumstances. None of those circumstances were present here.

Such an interesting short story! I was hooked from the start and hope the author continues this storyline
