I actually would give it 3.5 stars. It was a nice, light, fun read. Not too heavy.
I DNFed this kinda early on. Just seemed a bit too dramatic for my liking right now.
This is another of those books that's plain old fun. Simply a delight to read. You know where it's going when it starts, but it's so much fun getting there, and there are just enough twists to keep you guessing on how we'll arrive at the happily ever after. A great pick-me-up book.
Fun and funny at times. I definitely cried and laughed out loud. This is usually a sign of a good book for me. But it got really slow for me in the middle. Felt like a chore to keep listening.
This book is more fun than one should be allowed to have reading a single novel.
It seems that contemporary romance heroines – from Bridget Jones, to Anastasia Steele, to Bex Porter of "The Royal We" – are now required to be klutzy, socially inept, and barely able to dress themselves, much less handle work or relationships with any competence — and we and the heroes are supposed to consider it charming and endearing, rather than long to give them a good shaking. As Queen Eleanor might sigh, "I do find it all rather tiresome." Heroine cliché aside, however, I did enjoy this book more than I anticipated and more than I'm entirely comfortable with. It's a page turner for sure. And it also makes you wonder how Will amd Kate have not been driven completely bonkers by now.

SO MUCH FUN. If you're a Royal Watcher or if you've been following Kate Middleton since the St. Andrews days, then you'll likely enjoy this. And, what I especially love about it despite how entertaining I thought it was, is that it doesn't attempt to be anything other than what it is. Which is basically Kate Middleton fan fiction.
I didn't think I would like it, knowing that's what it was going in to it. But, I did. Because it really was just so much fun and a great piece of entertainment. There will be many people who will dismiss it for what it is. To which I respond:
The "Kate" here is American, and the authors do a great job weaving in many of the rumors and facts about the William & Kate courtship and engagement - Jecca Craig, the breakup, fake hair, etc., complete with a red-headed younger prince. It probably is longer than it needs to be, but it will have no problem drawing in readers who are interested in the Royal Family and the hoopla surrounding the Royal Wedding and the years leading up to it. Lots of fun for those who are interested in it all!

would have been five if not for the very abrupt ending
This is soo bad and problematic! It made me soo angry! I literally hate all the characters and the fact that she changes her entire self (her weight, her looks, her personality) just to be with a guy. The crown weighs her every 3 days, changes her looks, makes her quit her job, and her whole personality becomes doing everything for him, completely making her feel like she is going insane and that is just not fully addressed. Could be triggering for some people if they have eating problems. There is no character arc. The characters (all the main ones) stay stagnant and probably actually grow to be worse as people. Super anti-feminist and overall just made me angry.
