This was a very quick read for me, which is a nice change from the bulkier historical fiction I’ve been reading lately. The author expertly created an eerie, ethereal feeling over the entire story that I found rather unsettling, which added to the overall appeal of the story. I ended with a lot of questions and wanting to join many more dots, so I’ll be curious to investigate fan theories and watch some adaptations of this work.
Ta książka jest po prostu wspaniała! Idealna dla tych, którzy lubią niejednoznaczne i niekoniecznie w pełni szczęśliwe zakończenia. Szybko się czyta, napisana pięknym językiem (i przetłumaczona cudownie). Ma niezwykły, tajemniczy klimat. Uważam, że zasługuje na więcej adaptacji.

En un inicio no entendía bien el fin de la historia. Empieza muy bien, y después sentí que se iba por las ramas. Pero después entendí. Entendí su simbolismo y significado. Es una gran oda a la liberación femenina. Muy recomendable.
What's harder, running a marathon, or getting through this book? Tough one.
EDIT: Okay honestly this gets a lot better each time I read it. From a literary perspective, mind you. It doesn’t get any less boring. Unless you put on gothic classical in the background and it elevates the whole experience to the level of bearable.
