ok they were cute and all and i'm giving it 4 stars despite how i'm really feeling because i think the whole series (the dark elements & the harbinger) is just really repetitive. another "i've loved you since our first interaction/since i first saw you) which the fact that roth was in this book was yikes. also really was noticing the flaws in this and the dark elements series on how sometimes jeniffer l armentrout just kinda forget about things/plot points she creates?? also the whole reason he left without saying goodbye was STUPID and made like no sense like literally i was more pissed after he told her the reason then before he did. really not a good reason even if she would have stopped you if i was her i would have beat his ass.

I finished this one in less than 12 hours! :3

I also didn't realize how cute Dez and Jasmine are! The other books didn't really give much justice to both of them, since they just focused on parts like Jasmine getting Layla patched up, Dez helping Layla in SCT, and the twins being adorable.

These two are so adorable!

And I also loved how the young Zayne and Layla made an appearance! And Roth!!!! *squeals*

Jasmine and Dez. Boring.
Intro of Layla and Zayne and a sneaky peek of Roth. Worth it.

4.5 stars!

The story sucked me in right from the beginning. I loved learning the history between the two main characters.

The best part was the world building, and I am truly looking forward to the other books in the series if they are anything like this one. JLA never disappoints!

I never thought Jasmine and Dez would have such a cute love story! And I absolutely loved how Jennifer L. Armentrout wrote Roth, Layla, and Zayne into this prequel too! (Along with the pukwudgie because I remember that being mentioned in Every Last Breath so I thought that was hilarious)

Oh. My. Goodness. I was thinking of passing up this book and this series entirely, but I'm so glad I didn't. I cannot wait to read White Hot Kiss. This story was marvelous. I wouldn't mind hearing more about Dez and Jasmine instead of Layla and Roth and Zayne, but I'll take what I can get. Who knows, I might enjoy Layla and Roth and Zayne more than Dez and Jasmine.
