3.5ish rounded up.

I read the English translation. This was a novel that spoke to the invisible work done by domestic workers. The novel does engage with class politics. For the family in the novel, who employs the maid, it is clear that she occupies a fringe space—she doesn't even register to them, even when she does it is only as an afterthought. The book does a good job in portraying the seeping alienation and loneliness experienced by the maid as she feels increasingly trapped in the house. The prose is quick.
