Some aspects will undoubtedly become irritating as the series progresses (I did read this book plus at least one other in the series twenty years ago, though I forget everything about them). But this was pretty entertaining and light.

Cozy mystery novel set in New England - the mystery itself is somewhat convoluted but I have to say that my favorite part of reading this was how clearly the novel itself was written in 1990 and how much the Martha Stewart/Silver Palate early nineties food and decor permeated the details of the book. It was like time traveling.

(Read for OLPL's Mysteries in the Morning book group)

This was quite delightful! I was super surprised by how much I liked Faith and her little New England town. (And the wacky townies who round out the supporting cast.) I even kind of want to read the next book in the series!

It's probably Faith's age and interests (around mine, food) that really got me, but the interesting story didn't hurt either.
