I waited 6 months for this volume! Yay! More development!
Nicholas and the other fencers get invited to fencing camp and go up against other boys from other schools. This camp is about growth and improving their craft and showing off some new skills. I still know nothing about fencing but watching them do it is pretty cool.
I feel like the art changed a little but it was still really pretty. It was so sweet how they made Bobby team manager and everyone threw him a surprise party. Aiden wasn’t a complete bitch in this volume but he’s still obviously only fencing because of Harvard and doesn’t really care too much about it. Also nobody blinked an eye when Harvard and Aiden said they have to have their beds pushed together? Like?? Seiji and Nicolas have a few really good moments together and there’s history between Seiji and Jesse?! I called that but now I’m interested to see what comes next. Now to wait many more months for the next one!

Overall, I give this series a 3.5 stars, with only volume 4 being higher with 4 stars.
I don’t really care or know anything about fencing, so I was only really interested in the characters and their relationships with one another.
I’m excited to see everyone’s reactions to finding out who Nicholas’ dad is, especially Seiji, I wonder if he’ll feel different towards him, maybe betrayed, jealous, after finding out he’s related to Jesse (they dated, that’s what was being implied, right???).
I liked Harvard and Adian’s relationship. Harvard was the only person who got to see Aidan’s true side, so I hope they end up together in the end.
Seiji’s arrogance does still annoy me a bit, but I’m growing to like him (and Nicholas) more.
I’m excited to read the rest of the series when it comes out, as I’m sure there’s still a lot more volumes to go.
